Welcome to the Wiki[]

Welcome to the wiki. Battle Royale (バトル・ロワイアル Batoru Rowaiaru) is a controversal Japanese novel written by Koushun Takami which was originally completed in 1996, it was not published until 1999. The story is about junior and high school students who are brought to _____ island with their teacher Mr. ______, awaiting a lesson they begin panicking after Mrs. _____ commits suicide. Than ascend to madness and murder each other throughout the rest of the entirety of the story, with very little provocation from anyone (not even the Japanese government).

The novel features themes of genocide and the idea of a master race, parents who felt concern about the novel having children murder each other was controversial which only added to its intense popularity during the early twenty-first century and made the novel more known worldwide. It's considered a part of Japan's National diet as the novel had sold over a million copies and the film was the highest grossing (haha) Japanese film of 2009.

Koushen Takami has stated to be making a sequel of the novel in 2008 which fans are still waiting for, he has published a manga and helped with the film as well and is a well known Japanese author with Battle Royale becoming a cultural icon in Japan.

Very anti-human, it showed that without authority and in crisis situations humans display the worst personality and will often follow negative examples by others they see as very popular, intelligent or well off.

The fan base of Battle Royale, much like the fan base of Best Gore, will do anything to defend their

Also this novel isn't timeless, in its publication day it was better than other crappy novels like The Beach, but with Happy Tree Friends, Elfen Lied, and even Deathnote, this story is pretty outdated. It's also a rip-off of The Running Man according to some people.
